Description of the flag

The flag is adopted in 2006 or 2007, and its designer is Luis B. Hernandez, if I understood correctly.
Valentin Poposki, 06 Feb 2008

The flag was chosen by a public contest held in 2006. The winning design was the one proposed by Mr. Luis Hernández.

It is a horizontal triband of green, white and yellow. At the canton (just in the green stripe) three white doves appear flying upwards. These doves recall the natural memories of the district and its future, and stand for the three principal immigrant sources: Spaniards, Jewish and Italians, living and working together in peace. These three communities also are represented by the colors of the flag.

The green stripe stands for the fertile Pampas, abundance, and hope. The color is also taken from the flag of the Province of Buenos Aires, and the Italian flag.

The white stripe stands for peace, and templance of the people of the district. The color is also taken from the Argentine flag , the Province of Buenos Aires coat of arms, the Israeli and the Italian flags.

The yellow stripe stands for the matured wheat and the sunflower, the main crops of the area. Each year the Fiesta Nacional del Girasol (Sunflower National Festival) is held in Carlos Casares. The color also represents the sun that matures the seeds. It is also taken from the Argentine and provincial flags, the municipal and provincial coats of arms and the Spanish flag.

The flag has an official ratio of 1:2. If the flag is 0.90 m x 1.80 m, each dove should be 0.17 m of wingspan, and 0.12 m from bill to tail
