Upper Austria (Oberösterreich) is divided in 445 municipalities, including
32 towns/cities (Stadtgemeinden)
and 144 market-towns (Marktgemeinden). They all have their own municipal coat-of-arms, some of them of quite
ancient age, most of them adopted since WW2, though.
Most of the municipalities have "municipal colours" (Gemeindefarben)
as well; these are used as the colours for the municipal flag, usually in the
form of stripes. The most common form of municipal flag is the Banner/Triangelfahne,
a form of the hanging flag; usually the municipal coat-of-arms appears on the
striped flag, either in the center or slightly shifted to the top of the hanging
flag. The municipalities having adopted their coat-of-arms
only recently, have adopted their municipal colours together with the arms;
municipalities with an historical arms either use "traditional"
colours (unofficially) or adopted them since WW2.
Although one can more or less safely assume that the most frequent pattern of the municipal flag in Upper Austria is the hanging flag (Banner/Triangelfahne) striped in the municipal colours, charged with the municipal coa, I only want to provide gifs, if and when I have photos of an actual flag of the municipality. I will therefore send several gifs made after photos from the WWW, the gifs being at least approximations to the real thing what regards proportions, size and position of the coa, and colour shades.
