The Flag

Her Majesty's personal flag for Barbados follows the normal pattern of the arms of the country as a banner with a blue circle in the centre, surrounded by a circlet of gold roses. In the centre is a large crowned letter E.

Royal Standard (1:2) - Banner of the arms of Barbados with royal cypher in the middle following the usual practice. I believe that this flag is rather new, not older then 1990's.
Željko Heimer, 24 February 2001

This flag was used back in the 1970s, when the Queen knighted the West Indies cricketer Gary Sobers in 1975. There are plans afoot to hold a referendum on becoming a republic, so the flag would become obsolete, like that in Trinidad and Tobago, in the event of a change of status.
