About the Flag of Maceió

The flag was adopted by law no. 868 of 29 May 1962. It is a horizontal tricolor, green, white, and blue, with a red wavy horizontal strip along the center. Overall, a white circle is charged with the municipal coat of arms, without its motto scroll. The colors and basic design are the same as those on the coat of arms, which features two different types of local boats in white. Maceió is a popular beach resort and the capital of the state of Alagoas.
