The municipality of Floresta do Araguaia (17,825 inhabitants in 2010; 3,444 sq. km) is located in southeastern Pará, on the border with Tocantins. Floresta do Araguaia is known as "Pineapple Land". The town is is the Brazilian capital of pineapple juice, the "Flora" company processing more than 110 tons of fruit per day.
