Description of the flag

The Town of Crowsnest Pass came into existence as a result of provincial legislation which came into effect on January 1, 1979 and resulted in the merger of the Town of Coleman, the Town of Blairmore, the Village of Bellevue, the Village of Frank and Improvement District No. 5 into one municipality. Depicted on the municipal flag is a coal miner, Canadian maple leaf, wild rose (on miner's collar), a crow, a deer, three fish, a round sawmill blade, forest, a train locomotive, a saw mill, a dump truck, lumber mill, a set of machinery gears and Crowsnest Mountain set against a clear blue sky.

The town was changed to the status of Specialized Municipality on 16 January 2008.
