The municipal flag of Valleyview, Alberta (population: 1856) features
the Town's crest depicting bushels of wheat, a moose, flying geese, a
cow, a farm house and oil derricks. Below the crest is the Town's
motto: "Portal to the Peace", a reference to the highway leading to
Peace River Region and beyond to the Mackenzie Highway which extends
to the Northwest Territories. On either side of the Town's crest
appear stylized versions of Canadian maple leaves except green in
color.
