The colors of the flag are the official blue and gold of the City of
Flin Flon. The silhouetted head frame and trees on a rocky island seen
reflected in the lake symbolize the geographical setting and natural
bounty of the Canadian Shield: the mineral wealth, forestry, fishery
and tourism. The stylized maple leaf is meant to identify Flin Flon as
a Canadian city. It is also meant as the sun rising at the dawn of an
age of optimism and prosperity.
