Description of the flag

The flag of the Haldimand County, Ontario, is green with county logo on it. The Great Blue Heron silhouette pays homage to a species often found in the County. The rolling hill in the background represents the banks of the Grand River and Lake Erie's shoreline and the flowing water represents these bodies of water that figure prominently in the geography, history and everyday life of Haldimand County residents and visitors. The Maple Leaf ties us to the Canadian identity and the tagline "A Grand Experience" is a play on words that mentions the Canadian Heritage Grand River and also describes the experience that we hope visitors and residents of the County can enjoy. Information and photo of the flag thanks to Jeff Ballin, Marketing & Promotions Coordinator, Haldimand County.

The County:
"Haldimand (2006 population 45,212) is a rural city-status single-tier municipality (but called a county) on the Niagara Peninsula in Southern Ontario, Canada, on the north shore of Lake Erie, and on the Grand River. Municipal offices are located in Cayuga." - from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haldimand_County
