The alternative Admiral's flag. It is likely (but not confirmed) that if the Army and Air Force use this style of rank flag then the background colour would be red or azure respectively. The four maple leaves (Admiral is a four star rank) are arranged in a diamond. The shading on the maple leaves is optional.

This if the exception to the post flags. It is the flag of the commander of one of Canada's two fleets. The flag has the same shape as a Commodore's flag (the holder is of Commodore's rank) but unlike the other flags has a red cross positioned to line up with the swallowtail indent. In the canton is a single red maple leaf emblem. This flag forms the basis of the Fleet Commander's badge.
