The full name is Befrag AG. As explained on this Swiss firm’s website:
http://www.befrag.ch/ the name recalls the
word ‘BEFRAchtunG’ (freighting).
Now located in Birsfelden near Basel
(Basle) on the Rhine, Befrag was founded at Basle by M. Ludwig, general manager
and major shareholder, in 1997. Although primarily a freighting agency for
inland navigation (more specifically tankers), the company is also active in
personnel management, brokerage, etc.
The house flag is green with a
white descending diagonal (drawn, perhaps unintentionally, in an ‘asymmetrical’
position) containing the name ‘BEFRAG’ in red letters – shadowed, I see; in the
lower hoist is a white-bordered red square with a large couped white cross
recalling Switzerland.
This flag is used on vessels, the best example on
the site being the ‘Brienzersee’ in the ‘Tankschiffe’ (tankers) section:
clickable photo. As Befrag cooperates with Plouvier of Belgium, the presence of
an Intertrans (Plouvier-owned Swiss firm) house flag on the same vessel should
cause no surprise.
