Vojkovice flag

[Vojkovice flag] by Blas Delgado Ortiz, 9 May 2001, after image by Peter Exner

There are four cities with this name in different okres. This one is from Exner's first website, and I missed the okres.

It looks like a warhaft flag; the checky yellow/black band points at Silesia; I'd go for Vojkovice in Frýdek-Místek okres.

Vojkovice "with sabres in flag" is really situated in district Frýdek - Místek - in its Silesian (Eastern) part. Vojkovice has 500 inhabitants. The village came into existence ca. 1500. It was a part of Frýdek estate.  The name Vojkovice comes probably from certain Vojtech, perhaps a village founder. People of  Vojkovice were weavers and farmers, but it was one special source of money - they PUSHED the coaches of merchants, travelling to Frýdek or to Tešín (Cieszyn), a local centre of former dukedom.(The village is situated in a deep valley )

[Vojkovice Coat of Arms] image from this site, spotted by Ales Krizan, 27 Aug 2001

Description of the Arms: Vert over Base Azure a checquy Fess of threě?) rows Or and Sable. Over the fess two crossed Sabres Or over a Fleur-de-lys Argent. (Let's suppose that the checquy fess is a  "fess in base" or "erniedrigte Balken" or "dwarsbalk verlaagd")
