The flag's ratio is 3:5. it is horizontally red - white - red with ratio 1:3:1, with the coat of arms in the center.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a silver (= white) eagle. Upon his breast is a silver (=white) inescutcheon divided by a black cross.
Meaning: The eagle is alluding to the Counts of Arnsberg and the inescutcheon to their heirs, the Archbishops and Electors of Köln.
