Description of banner:
It is a red - white vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Grafenau Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a silver (= white) white Maltese cross in base topped by two golden (= yellow) haymakers, crossed per saltire.
Meaning:
The cross is symbolizing the former municipality of Dätzingen, a possession of the Order of St. John, while the haymakers, agricultural tools, are representing the former municipality of Döffingen. Both villages merged on 1 September 1972.
