Description of banner:
It is a white - green vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is placed into a white bannerhead accompanied by a black inscription "Bocholt" in black Fraktur-letters.

Description of coat of arms:
In a green shield is a silver (=white) beech tree fruited silver(=white).
Meaning:
According to source arms and colours are said to be traditional. The arms had been fixed again in 1930 by Prussian government.

The coat of arms was granted on 6 June 1930 by Prussian ministry of state. According to §2(2) of Hauptsatzung of the city of Bocholt, version 20 December 1999, updated 11 February 2000, the banner is used with and without coat of arms. The old banner probably was approved together with the coat of arms on 6 June 1930.

The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a white over green horizontal bicolour.
