Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The blue shield is divided by two silver(=white) bars. Between the bars is a golden(=yellow) tomb, made of giant stones (German: Hünengrab, literally: a giant's tomb).
Meaning:
According to source the bars are taken from the arms of von Heyden kin. The colours blue and silver probably had been those of the family. The tomb is symbolizing the devil's stones (German: Teufelssteine), which are located in the municipality's territory.

Flag, banner and coat of arms were approved by minister of interior of Northrhine-Westphalia on 17 April 1956. The local council removed the unusual flag by a banner without approval. The year is not known.
