Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a silver (=white) mounted, nimbed St.Martin, sharing his coat with a beggar. The golden (=yellow) chief is superimposed by three green hazelnuts ordered horizontally.
Meaning:
According to source St.Martin is the patron saint of the local parish church, while the nuts are canting (Lower German: nötte means "nuts").
