Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale into gold (= yellow) and silver (= white). The dexter side is divided by a red bend. The sinister side shows a winegrower's knife with a blue blade and a brown handle.
Meaning:
The coat of arms is based upon the oldest seal from 1462. The knife is a local symbol and alluding to the local viticulture. The dexter side displays the arms of the Margraves of Baden, the former rulers. The tinctures were fixed in 1900.
