Simonswald Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale into gold (= yellow) and silver (= white). The base is surmounted by a red triple mount. On each peak stands a green fir tree. The top of the central tree touches the upper edge of the shield.
Meaning:
The municipalities of Altsimonswald, Haslachsimonswald and Untersimonswald merged on 1 April 1970. Obersimonswald and Wildgutach were incorporated to Simonswald in 1974. The colours red, yellow and white are alluding to Baden - rulers after 1805 - and Austria - rulers before 1805. The triple mount is taken from the municipal arms of Haslachsimonswald and is symbolizing the hilly landscape. The fir trees are symbolizing forestal riches. Fir trees also appeared in the municipal arms of the three predecessors of Simonswald.
