Teningen Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale into gold (= yellow) and blue. The dexter side is divided by a red bend. The sinister side displays agolden (= yellow) plough share.
Meaning:
The oldest known seal of Teningen dates from 1476 and displays already the plough share. The symbol later appeared on the seals and on border stones of the village. Since 1531 the local seals combined the iron with the bend of Baden. Hence in 1906 the State Archives kept the combination of plough iron and Baden, and fixed the colours for the plough share.

The banner was approved on 23 July 1979 by the county administration, published in GABl 255/1980. The arms were designed in 1906 and adopted in 1913.
