Description of coat of arms:
The silver (= white) shield is divided by three red, dancetty bars. The base is divided per fess into black over silver (= white).
Meaning:
The upper partition displays the dancetty bars, derived from the arms of the Lords of Bubenhofen, medieval, local rulers in Klein-Süßen. The base displays the arms of the city of Ulm, which owned Gross-Süßen. On 1 July 1996 the title of a city was granted to Süßen by decree of the government of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 35/1996.

The banner was approved on 13 March 1958 by minister of interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 218/1958. The coat of arms was approved in 1933.
