Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a green field are two golden (= yellow) hatches crossed per saltire. Below are six blossoms of rape of the same colour ordered 3:2:1.
Meaning:
The hatchets are canting (Hagen ~= Hacken). The blossoms are symbolizing agriculture, the main line of business. Their number is alluding to the size of land, which was gained by forest clearance in the middle ages. (6 Hufen ~= 450,000 sqm = 45 ha)

Flag and coat of arms were approved by minister of interior of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania on 8 September 2008, published in the roll of arms of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania as no. 0320.
