Description of coat of arms:
In the base of the silver ( =white) shield is a green hill having three peaks. Above is a red demi-griffin issuant, armed and tongued golden (= yellow) holding a red lozenge between his claws.
Meaning:
The griffin is symbolizing (West-)Pomerania, the lozenge is taken from the arms of the Counts of Schwerin, intermittent rulers in the middle ages. The hill is symbolizing the village of Heidberg.

The flag and was approved by minister of interior of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania on 30 August 1993, published in the roll of arms of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania as no. 0060, the coat of arms already on 10 July 1992.
