    Description of banner:
    It is a black - yellow vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

    Gerlingen Coat of Arms

    Description of coat of arms:
    In a black shield are two golden (= yellow) wheel rims. The golden (= yellow) chief is superimposed by a black antler.
    Meaning:
    The antler is alluding to the affiliation with Württemberg. The rims are taken from the arms of the Lords of Gerlingen. The rinctures were adapted to those of the chief. Gerlingen gained city rights in 1958.

    Banner, acc. to sources however yellow - black, are in use since 1952. Acc. to Stadler the coat of arms was adopted in 1937.
