Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a golden(=yellow) field are two agricultural tools having silver(=white) irons and red sticks crossed saltirishly. Below of the saltire is a red bee hive, above a red heraldic rose seeded and barbed golden(=yellow). The chief shows five golden(=yellow) ears of grain in a red field, ordered like a fan.
Meaning:
According to source the rose is symbolizing the former rulers, the princes of Lippe. Bee hive, tools and grain are symbolizing the agricultural productions during 18th century, when the settlement was established in the sandy wasteland of Senne. The arms were approved on 25 October 1951 by minister of interior of Northrhine Westphalia. The colours of the flag are those of Lippe county.
