The flags ratio is 3:5. It is a blue over yellow horizontal bicolour.
Note:
According to Veddeler 2003 there existed another version with coat of arms, which is no longer used, because the coat of arms was erroneous.
Meaning:
Blue and yellow are the main colours of the coat of arms.

It is a red over yellow horizontal bicolour with the coat of arms in its centre.
Description of coat of arms:
n a silver field is a red radiant sun with a silver(=white) capital "H" in its centre.The shield has a plain black base and a red chief showing a silver(=white) gear flanked by two ears of grain of the same colour.
Meaning:
Grain and gear probably are symbolizing industry and agriculture. The "H" might be an abbreviation of the boroughs name, but the sun with might be a symbole of Christ as well. I do not know the details yet.

The ratio is 3:5. It is ared over yellow over red horizontal triband with ratio 1:3:1 and the coat of arms in the centre of the yellow stripe.
Description of coat of arms:
In a blue field is a silver(=white) gear.
Meaning:
The gear probably is symbolizing industry. The colours of the sheet are those of Lippe county.
