Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a green over white over green horizontal triband. In the centre of the white stripe is a black rooster armed and tongued red with a torn out feather beneath his right foot.

According to Stadler 1972 the coat of arms was approved in 1937 by Oberpräsident of Prussian Rhineprovince, a flag with full coat of arms in 1951 by minister of interior of Northrhine-Westphalia(?).
