Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver(=white) field are three green aspen leaves ordered like a fan. The black base is divided by a silver(=white) cross.
Meaning:
After WW2 expelled people and also fugitives from Soviet occupation zone had been settled in the ammunition factory of the former Amt Rahden. The number of inhabitants quickly increased and in 1959 the location gained the rank of a city. The aspen leaves are canting, the translation of the name is "aspen field". The base shows the inverted colours of the arms of Eastern Prussia. According to source it is symbolizing the great help of the protestant church by settling down all the fugitives and expelled. The colours green, white and black are symbolizing that the inhabitants had their origin in Saxony and Prussia.
