Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a blue over yellow horizontal bicolour. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. The upper half is divided per pale. The upper half is the same like in the greater coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania. The lower half shows a horizontal golden (= yellow) crozier in a blue field.
Meaning:
The crozier is alluding to the Cistercians, whose monastery of Röcknitz, first mentioned in 1178, was actually the settlement core of the city established later on. The griffin of Pomerania reminds on the fact, that the city belonged to Pomerania from 1236 to 1291. The bull's head is symbolizing, that the city belonged to Mecklenburg-Schwerin since 1815.

The flag's ratio is 3:5. It was a green - yellow - green vertical triband. The coat of arms was in the middle of the central stripe.

Stubbendorf Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a green field was a golden (= yellow) stomp of a tree. Above two scythes of the same colur are crossed per saltire.
Meaning:
The stomp is canting (stomp = Stumpf. (colloq.:Stubbe)). The scythes are symbolizing agriculture.
