Friesenheim Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale into gold (= yellow) and red. The dexter side displays a red plough share. The sinister side displays a silver (= white) vinegrower's knife.
Meaning:
The oldest court seal from 1516 already shows both charges. The local seal from 1811 however displays the bend of Baden accompanied above by the plough share and below by the knife. The current arms go back to the former seals. In 1976 the knife got a silver tincture (instead of gold?).

The coat of arms was corrected on 2 November 1976. The banner was approved on 8 August 1977 by the county administration, published in GABl 294/1978.
