Description of current flag:
The ratio is 3:5. It is a green - white - green vertical triband with ratio 1:2:1. The coat of arms is in the middle of the central stripe.

Description of coat of arms:
In a green shield is a silver (= white), statant heron, armed golden (= yellow). Upon the dexter and sinister chief point are two pairs of golden (= yellow) acorns placed symmetrically with reference to the vertical axis.
Meaning:
The acorns are symbolizing an oak tree of very old age (some 100s of years) in the village. The heron is canting. ("Zapel" is derived from Slavic: czapla = heron)
