Moorrege subcounty consists of seven municipalities. Moorrege municipality lies around the City of Uetersen on the other bank of Pinnau river. In 2007 the municipality of Appen became part of Moorrege subcounty. The subcounty has no proper flag nor coat of arms. In front of the administration building however the flag of the municipality is flown (spotted 23 August 2007). Probably subcounty and municipality share the same symbols.

Description of flag:
The ratio is 3:5. It is a red flag, having broad, horizontal, white stripes at the top- and bottom edge. The coat of arms without shield is in the red stripe and shifted to the hoist.

Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a silver (= white) flying crane (in Lufthansa style) in the upper sinister corner. He is accompanied by an upright ear of grain of the same colour and a silver (= white) rose, filled and seeded red and barbed green.
Meaning:
The charges are symbolizing the main branches of the local economy. The ear of grain is symbolizing agriculture. The rose is symbolizing the extended rose growing in the municipality. Finally the crane is symbolizing the air base of German Airforce. The colours red and white are those of Holstein.

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided by a red over white bend into golden, i.e. yellow, (above left) and green (below right). In the golden field is a red wheel with 12 spokes. In the green field is a farmhouse in red and silver (= white).
Meaning:
The bend is symbolizing an old cattle trail and the nowadays successor, a federal road. The colours red and white are symbolizing Holstein, to which the municipality belongs. The road is also separating the moraine, symbolized by the golden colour, from the marshes, symbolized by the green colour. The farmhouse is typical for the region and also symbolizing agriculture. The wheel is symbolizing transport connections and economic boost.

The ratio is 3:5. It is a white flag with a blue stripe at the top edge and a red stripe at the bottom edge. The demi stag from the coat of arms is at the hoist in the white stripe.

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver (= white) shield is a red demi stag forcene.
Meaning:
The demi stag is taken from the arms of the local lords of Heest. It is told that in 1361 /Hartwig Heest/ confirmed the selling of Heist to the Cistercian nuns in Uetersen. The last lords of Heest died in the battle of Hemmingstedt in 1500. The colours of the flag are those of Schleswig-Holstein.

The ratio is 3:5. It is a white flag with a blue stripe at the top edge and a red stripe at the bottom edge. The municipal coat of arms in the white stripe and shifted to the hoist.
Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a golden (= yellow) bracelet. On the dexter chiefpoint is an oak leaf, on the sinister chiefpoint an ear of grain. Both figures are golden (= yellow).
Meaning:
The bracelet was discovered together with pins from the Bronze Age, probably the stock of a trader, hidden at the edge of a historical trail of cattle. The leaf is symbolizing the former woods. The ear of grain is stressing the importance of agriculture. The colours of the flag are those of Schleswig-Holstein.

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided by a silver (=white) bend sinister wavy into black (above) and green (below). In the black field are five golden (= yellow) balls ordered 2:2:1. In the green field are an upright anchor and a slightly higher a gear, both golden (= yellow).
Meaning:
The black colour, the colour of swamps, is a canting element. The village, first mentioned in 1285, had the name Moor, i.e. swamp for centuries. In the 18th century the name was changed. The meaning was row in swamp and alluding to a special form of village, where all houses are placed alongside one row. The five balls are symbolizing the settlement cores of Bauland, Heidrege, Klevendeich, Moorrege and Oberglinde. The bend sinister wavy is symbolizing the Pinnau river. The anchor is symbolizing the local dockyards and shipping. The gear is symbolizing industries. The green colour is symbolizing agriculture.

The shield is divided by a silver (=white) bend sinister wavy, fimbriated green. Above in a golden (= yellow) field is a red farmhouse. Below in a green field is a silver (= white) willow tree.
Meaning:
The sinister bend incl. fimbriation is symbolizing the dykes on the banks of Pinnau river, which gave the name to the municipality, thus this element is canting. Farmhouse and willow are typical in the region. The colours yellow and green are symbolizing grainfields and meadows.
