Bönebüttel Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per chevron into silver (= white) over red. Above right is a blue blade of a spade. Above left is a blue ear of grain. Below is a silver (= white) mitre.
Meaning:
The municipality is first mentioned in 1141 and was a subject of interest in the 12th century of the monastery of Neumünster and later on Bordesholm. This is symbolized by the mitre. It is also alluding to the founder of the municipality, who became bishop of Oldenburg later on. The chevron is alluding to Husberg, which had been incorporated in 1939. Spade and grain are symbolizing agriculture. The colours are those of Schleswig-Holstein.
