Auetal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a silver nettle leaf superimposed by a green beach tree, standing on a green basement with two hills, and divided by a silver fess wavy.
Meaning:
The hills are symbolizing the Süntel, a local highland. The tree is symbolizing its forestal riches. The fess wavy is symbolizing the Aue, a local creek and name giver of the municipality. The nettle leaf is representing the Counts of Schaumburg, the former rulers.
