Description of coat of arms:
In a blue shield is a golden (= yellow) fountain, having three levels and nine silver (= white) jets of water.
Meaning:
Külsheim gained city rights in 1292 from King Adolf. The city was part of the Archbishopric and Electorate of Mainz until 1803. The oldest seal, dating from 1299 thus shows St. Martin, the patron saint of Mainz. From the middle of the 14th century until 1803 the seals showed the wheel of the Electorate of Mainz. In 1803 the city became a possession of the Princes of Leiningen, and the new seal of the city displayed in a shield divided per pale on the dexter half three initials "K", on the sinister half three eagles of the Princes of Leiningen. Since 1836 arms and seals display a fountain, bacuse the city is known as a city of fountains.

The flag was approved on 16 September 1980 by the county administration, published in GABl 232/1981. The coat of arms was already confirmed in 1898.
