Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess into silver (= white) over red. Above is a red, N-shaped wolf trap, below are sword and a key, both silver (= white), crossed per saltire.
Meaning:
The upper half displays the arms of the Lords of Emerkingen, local rulers of the village in the 13th century. Sword and key are taken from the arms of Obermarchtal Monastery, to which the village had been pawned and later on sold. The village remained a dominion of Obermarchtal until 1803.
