Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above in a red field is a golden (= yellow) beehive superimposing two flails of the same colour crossed saltirishly. Below in a golden (= yellow) field is a blue viking ship.
Meaning:
The beehive is alluding to the former Slavic name Medov (=honey). The flails are symbolizing agriculture in the past and nowadays. The viking ship is symbolizing the presence of vikings in the past and the importance of sailing nowadays.
