Municipality of Neuharlingersiel (SG* Esens; Wittmund county; Lower Saxony)
Description of flag: It is an armorial flag, showing a golden 19th century sailing ship, fully hoisted up, having two masts topped by two flags. The ship is topped by the name of the municipality in black capitals.
Source: I spotted this flag hoisted on a rescue cruiser of DGzRS in Neuharlingersiel harbour on 30 April 2009.
*A "Samtgemeinde" (SG*), also called "collective municipality" is a combination of several municipalities to an administrative community in Lower Saxony.

Arms

[Neuharlingersiel coat of arms] image from this site.

The arms of Neuharlingersiel show a two-masted sailing ship on a blue background. The image of the schooner reminds of the large sailing ships which had once their base here and shows the position of Neuharlingersiel on the Northsea-coast. The colors blue and gold underline that the municipality is part of the Samtgemeinde Esens.
