The flag is a red over white horizontal bicolour and obviously inspired by the flag of the city of Neumünster.
In the centre of the flag is the coat of arms of the city but the upper half in iverted colours. There are black capital letters "R" (upper hoist),
"C" (lower hoist) and "N" (in the middle of the fly).
Description of the coat of arms:
The shield is counterchanged and divided per fess. The upper half is white with 5 red chimneys, the lower half is red with a white swan with spread wings and a yellow coronet bearing it
like a collar, the swan is topped by a white nettleleaf (from the coat of arms of the Dukes of Holstein).
