Presentation of Isar

The municipality of Isar (331 inhabitants in 2015; 6,643 ha; municipal website) is located 25 km west of Burgos. The municipality is made of the villages of Isar (capital), Palacios de Benaver, Cañizar de Argaño, and Villorejo (54 inh.).

Villorejo

The flag and arms of Villorejo are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 21 December 2004 by the Village Council, signed on 29 December 2004 by the Mayor, and published on 11 January 2005 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. No. 6, p. 587 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Two purple triangular stripes in the corner, the central white with the coat of arms in the center.
Coat of arms: Diagonally divided, 1. With a three-towered castle, 2. A crayfish surrounded by a laurel crown.
