Presentation of Sasamón

The municipality of Sasamón (1,073 inhabitants in 2015; 11,311 ha; municipal website) is located 30 km north-west of Burgos.
The municipality is made of the villages of Castrillo (190 inh.), Citores (40 inh.), Olmillos (138 inh.), Sasamón (479 hab.; capital), Villandiego (63 inh.), Villasidro (39 inh.), and Yudego (169 inh.).

Villasidro

The flag and arms of Villasidro, approved on 21 August 2000 by the Village Council, are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 28 December 2000 by the Government of the Province of Burgos, signed on 8 January 2001 by the President, and published on 26 January 2001 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 19, p. 1,699 (text).
The symbols, which were validated by the Chronicler of Arms of Castilla y León, are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular, in proportions 1:1. On a golden field a blue bend of 20/100 in height. In the heart of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Or a cross patty gules in base a bunch of poppies gules and vert a grapevine fructed sable and vert. A chief azure a castle or a six-pointed star of the same a vase with three lilies argent. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
