The municipality of Zazuar (256 inhabitants in 2010; 2,258 ha) is located in the south of the Province of Burgos, 90 km of Burgos.

Symbols of Zazuar

The flag and arms of Zazuar are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 22 October 2001 by the Municipal Council, signed on 9 November 2001 by the Mayor, and published on 30 November 2001 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 233, p. 17,548 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1. Tricolor. Vertically divided, 0.3 red; 0.1 wavy blue, 0.6 white. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Gules a pillory or with four steps, a square column [...] cantonned in chief with two towers or, 2. Argent a grapevine leaved vert fructed sable in chief an eagle proper in base a wave azure. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.
