Description

Red flag with a white hoist stripe as wide as 1/3 of the flag's length. Within an imaginary rectangle placed on the canton, as high as 43/100 of the flag's height and as long as 2/3 of the flag's length and set apart by 1/10 of the flag's height from the top of the flag, are inscribed four wavy stripes red-white-red-white, each as wide as 1/12 of the flag's height, showing two crests and two [beginning and end] half-crests, so that when their colour matches that of the field the stripe appears to merge seamlessly. Ratio 2:3.

Colours from the arms. The waves are a canting reference to the hot springs (caldas) of termal waters. Flag adopted 18th March 1996. Source for image and text: Fluvià 2001.
