Introduction

Estellencs is a village in the southwest of the island's western shore.

Description

Flag #1 is a 6-striped flag with alternating red and green horizontal stripes; ratio is 2:3. I observed this flag on 24 May 2009 at the town hall of the village. Flag #2 is #1 with the coat of arms in its centre. The coat of arms: In a light blue field is an olive tree in natural colour, set upon a hill with broken, brownish pieces of soil. A grocer told me of the existence of that flag, when I was asking for flag #1. She also told me that that flag was winner of a competition held among the local pupils. I chose the shape of the coat of arms according to the stone carved image above the town hall’s door, which was the same like that one, the grocer showed me in a local newspaper. The colours were taken from “Escuts heraldic dels pobles de Mallorca” by Francesc Suarez, edited by the council of Mallorca.
