Introduction

Ses Salines is a village lying in the southeast of the island.

Description

The Ses Salines flag has a ratio of 2:3. It is a Senyera, the flag of Catalunya, with four red horizontal stripes in a yellow field and with the local coat of arms in its centre. The arms: a shield with a light blue chief over a silver field with an irregular pattern of black lines, symbolizing probably broken salty soil. The lines are superimposed by a heap or cone of ground salt, being white on the dexter side and black on the sinister side, giving the appearance of shadow. I observed this flag on 28 May 2009 at the town hall.
