Presentation of Villares de la Reina

The municipality of Villares de la Reina (6,033 inhabitants in 2012; 2,181 ha; municipal website) is located 5 km north of Salamanca. The municipality is made of the settlements of Villares de la Reina, Aldeaseca de Armuña, El Helmántico and Fuente Serrana. The Los Villares business park, established in 1960, groups 700 companies employing 14,000 workers.

Symbols of Villares de la Reina

The flag of Villares de la Reina is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 20 July 2012 by the Municipal Council, signed on 26 July 2012 by the Mayor, and published on 9 August 2012 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 153, p. 51,610 (text).
As prescribed by the Law, the adopted flag was forwarded to the Chronicler of Castilla y León, who did not released any comment within the legal delay of two months. Accordingly, the flag was considered as definitively approved by a new Decree signed on 7 December 2012 by the Mayor and published on 27 December 2012 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 248, p. 79,965 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, in proportions 2:3. Tierced per bend sinister, the central stripe red, the triangle at hoist blue and the triangle at fly green. In the middle is placed the municipal coat of arms, in height 50% of the flag's height.
Symbolism: The colours of the flag are those of the field of the coat of arms.
