Background

Dire Dawa is one of two chartered cities (astedader akabibi) in Ethiopia (the other being the capital, Addis Ababa) in the north east of the country on the Dechatu River.  This chartered city is divided administratively into two woerdas, the city proper and the non-urban woreda of Gurgura.

The Dire Dawa City Administration website shows a municipal emblem but I have no information regarding a flag.
