Ethiopian Crown Council

According to its website, the Ethiopian Crown Council is the Constitutional body which advises the reigning Emperors of Ethiopia and, during the interregnum (such as currently exists), acts on behalf of the Crown. The Crown Council believes that the abolition of the monarchy in Ethiopia on 12 September 1974 was unconstitutional and therefore the subsequent governments of Ethiopia have been illegal.  The Crown Council operates from Charleston (USA) with the grandson of  deposed Emperor Haile Selassie I, His Imperial Highness Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie Haile-Selassie, as its President.

The Crown Council website shows the former Ethiopian flag, a Coat of Arms and the flag of the Crown Council, which is based on the Ethiopian tricolour with Unity, Freedom, Equality, Prosperity written in Amharic in red on the centre stripe.
