I noticed that on the flightsuits of the multi-national "USAC" rescue team something which was apparently a future EU flag comprising of at least ten more stars in a second inner circle.

It seems highly unlikely that the European flag should change like that. The number of stars is set to be 12, it will not change, and that has nothing to do with the numer of member states or something in the European Union or in the European Council.

I noticed at on the flightsuits of the multi-national "USAC" rescue team what appeared to be one of the proposals for a new Australian flag, being the same but the Union Jack being replaced with the red and black with yellow disc of the Aborigine flag.

I find the "Australian" flag unlikely too – if Australia would choose a new flag, I think she would go for a new design altogether, not for this just replacing the Union Flag with the Aboriginal flag.
The designer of these flags is probably enough interested in flags to invent something which would have a future look over it, but not enough to know the reasons for flag designs and flag symbolism.

Note that some sites mention that the US flag contain
more stars but it is shown well enough in a few scenes
to see that it is the current 50 stars one.
