Presentation of Amari

The municipality of Amari (5,915 inhabitants in 2011, 27,770 ha) was formed in the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities of Kourites (Κουρήτες, 2,703 inh.) and Syvritos (Σύβριτος, 3,512 inh.).

The former municipality of Kourites, established in 1999, had its seat in the village of Fourfouras (Φουρφουράς).
Its flag (Kokkonis website) was white with a red border and the municipal emblem, in red, in the middle.
